Armando Cimolai, founder of the Cimolai Group, passed away last night at the age of 94.
He was a pioneer of Italian industry. In 1949, he created, in Pordenone, the company that in more than 70 years of history has become a reference of Made in Italy in the world, globally recognized excellence in the manufacture of complex steel structures.
Visionary and firmly rooted in family and work values, Armando Cimolai remained in business until a few days ago with the company Armando Cimolai Centro Servizi.
Numerous honors were received during his lifetime, including appointments as Knight of Labor (1973), Officer (1980), Commendatore (1984), Grand Officer (2004), an honorary degree in Mechanical Engineering awarded in 2005 by the University of Trieste, and the appointment as Knight of the Grand Cross conferred in 2020 by President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
All the people of the Cimolai Group join, with affection and gratitude, in the grief of his wife Albina, sons Luigi and Roberto and their families.
